WHAT We have developed a series of high-performance billet camshafts for your Holden V6 SIDI engine. Designed to deliver real-world horsepower and torque gains, our SIDI cams won't compromise the drivability of your vehicle, like some cams can. You are provided with four brand new billet camshafts, so there is no need for change-over or deposit and we have packages to suit every model and transmission. This package provides power gains up to 30rwkw from 1500rpm to redline. Power keeps climbing as the rev limiter range is increased which means even greater power gains can be achieved. This increase has been achieved without sacrificing any noticeable low-end torque or drivability. Despite the excellent performance characteristics of this package, the engine remains tractable and responsive at low speed. These cams have been designed to be used with the standard valve springs and engine components, so you are not required to replace any other engine components. HOW The camshaft is one of the most vital components inside your engine, controlling when and how the intake and exhaust valves open and close inside your cylinder heads directly affecting not only how much power you make, but where in the rev range it does it. By altering key attributes to camshaft design we've been able to offer a series of camshafts that provide maximum drivability and economy, whilst also offering up to 30rwkw power gains. This cam package can be fitted by any good mechanic and we have made installation even easier by loaning out our installation tool in conjunction with fitting instructions for the job. Tue, 29 Jul 2014Boris wants to charge diesel cars an extra £10 to enter London We’ve long banged on about the nonsense of basing the cost of motoring on the Co2 emissions of cars, and it seems the London Mayor, Boris Johnson, also realises that Co2-based taxation has led to a real pollution problem. As we reported as far back as 2010, petrol cars – certainly before the introduction of Euro 6 emissions recently – are far cleaner than diesel cars when it comes to the sort of stuff that really matters – NoX and particulates. And the problem has been exacerbated by basing car taxation on Co2 emissions as lower Co2 levels have been much easier for car makers to achieve on diesel engines, which is why diesel-engined cars now account for around 50 per cent of all cars sold in the UK.
